Out of the Teatre

In 2005 Teatrodistinto founds the Down Syndrome Theatre Group, bringing togehter 30 people with different ages, needs, experiences and potentials.The group works on emotional issues, such as anger, fear of loneliness, need of escaping everyday life, marriage, equal rights. Every year the group produces a show, with strong impact and response from the audience. Standing ovations have become familiar, and the productions are performed in different theatres of the region.

In 2006 the Voices from a Corner penitentiary group is created. It is formed by 12 convicts who work on improvisational pieces, using imaginary and personal experiences to create scene works and performances, always dealing with heartfelt themes: guilt, home returning, relation to religion, need of freedom, fear of freedom.
